One of our all-time favourite knitwear designers has to be Stephanie Dosen, the absolute genius behind Tiny Owl Knits. (She's also one of the columnists in Crafty - so you'll be hearing from her a lot in the magazine!) So when her book, Woodland Knits, came out last year we couldn't wait to get our mitts on a copy - and we definitely weren't disappointed.
There are so many amazing patterns to choose from (we've got our eye on the fawn poncho, for starters), but for our next knit along we knew we just had to go for the reindeer hat as it's just so very much fun, so editor Sarah's dusting off her knitting needles and getting ready to put the hours in. (She's never felted anything before either, which the pattern does call for, so she's already feeling a little nervous!)
We'll be kicking things off next Wednesday with updates on Sarah's progress knitting this hat - and we really want you to join in with her as she goes along. So what do you say?
You'll need an aran weight yarn - we're using Artesano Manos del Uruguay Wool Clasica, which is just so lovely - 6.5mm 40cm circular needles and US 5 and US 9 double-pointed needles for the antlers and ears respectively.
