A craft day at the Bedruthan Hotel

Do you remember our competition to win a crafty holiday down in Cornwall in issue 4? Well, winner Nicola Wood took some photos of her weekend - and here they are!

In issue 4, we offered all our readers the chance to win a craft holiday down in Cornwall, staying at the Bedruthan Hotel - the county's hotel of the year for 2012 - and learning the fine art of machine embroidery under the expert eye of Loopy Linnet.

Our winner was the lovely Nicola Wood, who went along to try her hand at making templates, designing fabric and experimenting with texture and thread to make a textile picture. Here are a few snaps she took while off on her jollies.

"I had a wonderful weekend on the Machine Embroidery Course! The hotel was wonderful - fantastic staff and exquisite food! I have come home feeling inspired, full of ideas and am now keen to create machine-embroidered art to sell alongside my other hand-crafted items on my website, which is still under construction but should be live in the next month.

Lynne, who ran the course, was a great inspiration and received good feedback from all of the ladies on the course. I will definitely be looking out for similar courses in the future, it really was a relaxing yet productive weekend," Nicola said.

Glad you had a lovely time, Nicola! We've got more competitions coming up in future issues of Crafty so make sure you keep an eye out!
