The School Run

A call is being made for lots of handmade toys and mini sewing kits for children in West Africa. Come along and lend a hand!

If you're of a crafty persuasion and like to give a little back by using your handmade skills, then you might like to take part in The School Run, a campaign organised by Oooh Betty blogger Emma McDonald's husband who, along with five of his friends, will be driving three vintage Land Rover ambulances from the UK to The Gambia loaded with mosquito nets, school supplies and medical equipment to help a local village.

Emma's helping the cause by sending lots of her handmade toys along for the ride for the local children to play with - and she needs your help! She's asking you all to put your crafty skills to the test and make as many toys as you like to send along as well.

If you'd like to lend a hand, whip up your best creations and send them into Emma at:

6, Cunningham Drive
Moss Nook
Manchester
M22 5LT

Don't forget to keep an eye on the Oooh Betty blog, as Emma will be charting all toys sent in to her - and her husband will also be sharing his progress over on the School Run Facebook page. The trip is due to start on March 3rd 2014 so keep an eye out for updates! Good luck, everyone!
